ABOUT THE ART
"When a young boy discovers a mysterious note, he finds he has the power to write graffiti and unleashes his inner creativity."
ARTIST BIO
The anonymous British artist Zedsy’s work has appeared at Banksy’s Dismaland and Tate Modern, yet little is known about the elusive, mysterious street-art figure.
Zedsy has a similar stencil aesthetic to Banksy, using spray and acrylic paint to produce murals, paintings, prints, and ephemera. Using imagery taken from pop culture, such as Disney characters or Andy Warhol’s “Campbell’s Soup Cans,” Zedsy makes irreverent and satirical comments on contemporary life and politics.
The Campbell’s tomato soup can has a reduced-price sticker; Snow White is absorbed in her iPhone. In 2016, Zedsy staged an intervention at Tate Modern, installing one of his “Reduced Soup Cans” in the galleries.
