Description

Circa 1970, the drum shaped brass case and movement having a counterweight driven lever platform escapement, fronted by a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and pierced hands. Mounted upon a leather panelled inclined mahogany platform inset with a brass plaque noting days of the week, raised overall on columnar supports and centred by an overhanging plum chain. The base also showing a retail plaque noting 'Ye Old Village Clock Shop, Isle of Wight'. Functioning at time of cataloguing. Measuring 10" high x 24" long x 5.5" wide.
