FORTY-THREE 19TH CENTURY U.S. MILITARY BUTTONS
American, 19th century. Forty-three (43) assorted military buttons consisting of sixteen (16) assorted artillery "eagle over cannon" buttons, eleven (11) militia eagle with shield buttons, three (3) rifle militia "horn" buttons, (3) three militia eagle with stars buttons, three (3) eagle over anchor Navy buttons, two (2) general service eagle over U.S. over wreath buttons, two (2) patriotic eagle buttons, two (2) Union flag buttons, and an eagle with shield regimental button, all contained in shadow box.
From the Collection of John F. Bradbury, Jr., longtime archivist and director of the State Historical Society of Missouri?s Rolla Research Center in Phelps County. John was a historian specializing in the Civil War period with a dedicated and distinguished career to studying and promoting the history of the Missouri Ozarks region.
