Description
The story we received from the Consignor is that this crazy quilt was made by the seamstress who made jerseys for the Kansas City Monarchs during the times of the Negro Leagues from 1937 to 1962. Apparently, she made a few of these types of crazy quilts, using excess fabric from the jerseys and one set of letters for each quilt. We can neither confirm nor deny the story, as the jersey material, other materials, and the style of quilt all appears to be period correct. This might be a gem to send for full authentication to PSA or another reputable agency. Measures approximately 78" x 77". Some normal signs of age and wear that you might expect for an old handmade quilt. This is certainly an interesting piece!
