BIOGRAPHY:
Walter Cichoki has a deep love for all that relates to the sea, seafaring, fishing and boating. Working part-time on fishing boats along the coast has given him a vast knowledge of his subject matter.He is a realist and works primarily in oils, reflecting his love for nature and the open sea. He attended the Academy of Fine Art, plus the Fleisher Art Memorial. On the other hand, he is also at home as a wild life painter. His work radiates a love which asks "why cant't we slow down and enjoy the beauty of God's creation?"His numerious exhibitions include: The former Les Beaux Arts Gallery, Lynn Kottler Galleries, Sydney Rothman Gallery, Arts International, Up from the Deep. One of his works was shown at the 1976 Eucharistic Council. He is a two time winner of the People's Choice Award, Adam Styka Memorial Arts Competiotion; three time winner, North Wildwood Arts Competiotion.He also had been a commercial artist working for such firms as Quacker State Motor Oil, Polish Beneficial Association, Polish Heritage Society.His works are in many private collections. Perhaps the most outstanding owner of one of his works would be Malcolme Forbes, Editor/ Owner of Forbes Magazines. He has been favorably reviewed on the Richard Roffman Show, The New York Daily News, etc.
