Description
Ca. 1st millennium BC.An orange pottery zoomorphic rhyton. This hollow vessel is formed in the shape of a bull with its double-portioned, bulbous body and central, tubular aperture emerging from the animal's back. The body is supported by four short and sturdy legs. The small head with a protruding, cylindrical snout, accentuated eyes and a curved pair of horns. Cf. Size: 270mm x 290mm; Weight: 1.39kg Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s.
