Antique Middle Eastern brass coffee pot, dallah, used by Bedouin nomads in the late 19th and early 20th century. It is used to brew the traditional qahwa, often with cardamom added, and offered as a symbol of hospitality.H 24 cm(9.4 in.), Provenance: Property of Bruce Elliot Tapper Ph.D., a social anthropologist, journalist, writer, and editor. He was an editor at the Smithsonian Associates Program in the early 1980s and then had a career as an editor at the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
