Bronze statue of Ganesh, the elephant-headed son of Lord Shiva, dancing and holding Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Ganesh is always invoked before any important ceremony or undertaking to ensure success and overcome obstacles, the biggest one is H12 cm( 4.8 in.), Provenance: Property of Bruce Elliot Tapper Ph.D., a social anthropologist, journalist, writer, and editor. He was an editor at the Smithsonian Associates Program in the early 1980s and then had a career as an editor at the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
