Description
Jesus Trevizo (Mexican, Mata Ortiz, Contemporary) ca. 21st century CE. A beautiful handmade egg-shaped pottery vase, etched and painted with birds, such as cardinals and other songbirds, perhaps towhees or grosbeaks. Trevizo uses a sgraffito technique to incise the background into textured lines, outlining the realistically painted birds. The base is signed by the artist. Size: 4" Diameter x 5" H (10.2 cm x 12.7 cm)
