A George II-style walnut and parcel-gilt stool, A George II-style walnut and parcel-gilt stool, early 20th century, the rectangular top upholstered in floral fabric, raised on acanthus-carved cabriole supports, terminating in claw and ball feet, 106cm wide 51cm deep 48cm high Provenance: A private collection, Mayfair, London W1; purchased from Christie's, 'Kinross House, Scotland and Property Removed from the London Residence of Mrs. Winston Spencer Churchill', 30 March 2011, lot 238. Literature: R Shore, 'The Churchills in London', Veranda Magazine, November-December 2001, p. 171. Condition Report: One small hole to the upholstery. Some separation to joints of ears. Joints solid. Some chips, knocks, scratches and wear to supports. Evidence of glue repair beneath in places.
