Description
Timothy Pickering (1745-1829) Patriot. Pickering was appointed Washington’s Adjutant General in June of 1777. He was present at the Battles of Brandywine and Germantown and was elected to the newly created Board of War. On Aug. 5, 1780, he was appointed Quartermaster-General of the Army. Pickering was also present at the surrender of Cornwallis. He was Secretary of State under the administration of John Adams until the XYZ affair. 6” x 2” signature clipped from a document. Age-spotting.
