The set contains coins honoring five of our Nation’s national parks and sites. The United States Mint issues these quarters in the order in which the honored sites were first established as national sites.Each coin in the series features a common obverse (heads) with the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. Each year, five new national site designs are depicted on the reverse (tails) of the quarters. The 2018 coins honor the sites below with the following designs:Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore: This design depicts Chapel Rock and the white pine tree that grows atop.
