Description
A rare chance to own a piece of the 1st Stage Rocket that launched the Gemini XI mission (GT-11, Launch Vehicle GLV-11). This is a Lucite presentation containing an actual large piece of flown metal from the Titan GLV-11 Rocket that placed Pete Conrad and Dick Gordon into the record setting Highest Altitude Orbit ever obtained at that time. This piece of the Titan Rocket was recovered down-range at sea after the launch. Rarely do fragments from USAF Launch Vehicles come up for sale. The information inside the Lucite has a typo which is vintage to the display and is seen on others that have sold in the past. It reads "Gordon & Cooper" instead of correctly saying "Gordon & Conrad". This Lucite measures 3" x 2.5" x 1.5" and is in near mint condition with no noticeable scratches.
