DESCRIPTION: Pan American Boeing 707 model, "Jet Clipper America", ship no. N709PA. Wood and Resin Model. The Boeing 707 was the world's first successful commercial jet airliner, entering transatlantic service with Pan American in October 1958 between New York and Paris. Pan Am was the launch customer for the B-707, ultimately operating well over 100 different airframes and models. The B-707 was used system wide and the -300 variant was the most prevalent, with Pan American operating over 120 different airframes. The last B-707 was retired in 1981.
