Muntañola was one of the most renowned set designers and costume designers of the post-war period in Spain.
He worked with different companies and stage directors such as the Marqués de Cuevas Ballet, the dancer and choreographer Yvonne Alexander and Joan Magrinyà.
His costumes, characterised by stylised and elegant lines, are clearly influenced by the Russian Ballets.
