Description
Asia, Southwest China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand, Chinese Yi or Nuosu peoples traditionally known as Lolo from the late 19th-early 20th century. Constructed of multiple plates of lacquered cattle hide local to the region, the face with a large double dome shaped upper plate painted and interlocking to the lower plates with hide cord. The remainder affixed in the same fashion with an intricate series of 6 rows of numerous scales to the lower skirt interwoven with additional hide roping. The back upper plate in a geometric shape with pointed peak. Size 18" H x 15" W
