Full brown morocco boards. Elaborate gilt paneling to upper and lower with motif of harp in center, "Laurence Burns" in gilt on upper. Spine with 5 raised bands, gilt lettering in compartment 2, gilt motifs in remaining compartments. Gilt on front and top board edges. Beveled edges. Gilt dentelles. Gilt-patterned endpapers. All edges gilt. With a profusion of plates. Generally fair-good condition: lower detached, boards rubbed, various other imperfections. * Stevenson, John and Moore, Thomas. A SELECTION OF IRISH MELODIES, WITH SYMPHONIES AND ACCOMPANIMENTS. London: J. Powers, (1811). Folio. Half red morocco over grey marbled boards. Upper with gilt rules, central red morocco label with "Mrs. Spurrier" lettered in gilt. Flat spine with gilt rules and title in gilt. Engraved titles, with engraved plate "After the Battle" by J. Minasi (sculp.) to accompany the song of the same title. Generally good condition: boards rubbed, worn at edges; interior toned, some spotting. Ex libris John Bingley Garland; printed ownership on pasted endpaper. One John Bingley Garland (1791-1875) was a merchant and politician who became the first Speaker of the House of Assembly of Newfoundland in 1833. *Additional images and detailed condition report available upon request.
