Item Details
Description
This American Studio Glass Vase, a collaborative creation by artists Bob Toensing and Michelle Schoen, bears the distinctive mark of craftsmanship and artistic expression. Dated 1993 and numbered 797 on the underside, the vase stands as a testament to the skill and creativity of these glass artisans.

The vase features a captivating design with geometric cuts, showcasing a frosted amethyst hue. The intricate patterns evoke a sense of tribal tattoo motifs, blending artistic elements that draw from cultural inspirations. The use of frosted amethyst adds a touch of elegance to the piece, creating a visually striking and unique work of art.

Notably, the vase incorporates modern motifs such as repetitive squares and circles, characteristic of minimalist artwork. This infusion of contemporary design elements enhances the overall visual appeal, creating a harmonious balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.

Bob Toensing and Michelle Schoen, as collaborative artists, bring their individual perspectives and skills to the creation of this glass vase. Their collaborative approach often results in pieces that marry post-modern minimalist shapes with intricate detailing, offering collectors and art enthusiasts a blend of contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship.

This glass vase, a product of the American Studio Glass movement, reflects the broader artistic landscape of the 1990s. During this period, artists explored diverse techniques and styles within the medium of glass, contributing to the rich tapestry of studio glass art.

For collectors and those appreciative of fine studio glass, this vase by Toensing and Schoen is not only a functional art piece but also a visual dialogue between form, color, and the shared creative vision of its talented makers.
