Two Chinese Carved Wood Gilt Transoms
Qing dynasty (1644-1912), late 19th century, two large carved gilt wood transoms, the first decorated with auspicious squirrels, grapevines, and birds (2 1/2 x 54 1/4 x 10 in.), and the second with finely carved chrysanthemums and birds ( 4 1/2 x 59 x 10 in.), both presented unframed.
Purchased separately by consignor at Canton Bazaar, San Francisco in 1984 and Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong in 1992.

Good estate condition; both with mounting wire to reverse; one with writing to reverse; one with old remains of paper label.
