EDMOND LOUYOT (French 1861-1920) after FRANÇOIS BOUCHER (French 1703-1770) TWO GERMAN EMPIRE ROCOCO REVIVAL PAINTINGS, "Cupid as Allegory of Autumn," AND "Cupid as Allegory of Sculpture," LORRAINE, 1892, oil on canvas, one panel painted with dark grapes within reach of a draped putto by a basket, and the other panel is painted as a putto with a hammer, chisel, and draft paper adjusting a "head of faun" bust on a pedestal in a landscape, respectively signed and dated L/R and L/L, "E. Louyot. '92;" 66 1/2" x 18 3/4", framed 71 1/2" x 24 1/4". Provenance: Private Estate, Houston, Texas.
