Raj-Inspired Victorian Silverplate Epergne
fourth quarter 19th century, with a spherical knop decorated with masques of Krishna, above three caparisoned and conjoined elephants, the seeri of each bearing an annulated scroll with masques en suite, all terminating in a receptacle decorated with tasseled "cloth" and draped chains, and fitted with a glass dish, the whole on a circular base above addorsed vritra feet.

Condition
In overall very good condition with no breaks, dents or repairs noted. The chain swags on the lower arms are later replacements, and two of the jump rings suspending a section of the chain to the arm are lacking. No evidence of replating; no monograms, inscription, or removal. No maker's or manufacturer's marks. The glass dishes are later replacements with no breaks or cracks noted with the exception of a couple of minor chips on the rim of the largest.
