Complete Suite of 10 Carsten Höller "Birds" 2006 Limited Edition Photogravures in Colours on Somerset Paper. Measures approx. - image - 19 5/8" high x 13 3/8" wide, sheet - 29 1/2" high x 22 7/8" wide. Total with frame - 31 7/8" high x 24 3/4" wide. All signed lower left, dated "2006" and numbered 14/24 in pencil, published by the artist and Niels Borch Jensen Verlag, Copenhagen and Berlin, all framed. This set was originally purchased from Niels Borch Jensen Gallery, Art Basel, 2006, for approx. $16,000. Carsten Holler studied biology before becoming an artist, was drawn to the exotic plumage of these birds. He used a 19th century process called photogravure, in which a photographic image is etched onto a copper plated and then printed in ink.
