19th c. sea trunk in original green paint. Paperwork with it claims it belonged to Capt. Frederick A. Weld, Commander of the whaling ship Italy out of Greenport N.Y., first American to whale in the Ochosyk sea and sailed twice around the world. Weld's home in Guilford, Ct. was built by his brother, William Weld in 1852 on Boston Street. 29" x 14 1/2" x 11".
