A Goblet-Form Beaker with Geometric Motifs, Tiahuanaco, Bolivia, 600-1100 CE

The motif is a simplified version of the double step-volute. The beaker is decorated with painted bands of double steps-volutes and small circles. Queros like this one were used in the Andes since Middle Horizon times as ritual drinking vessels.
