Rare Ermanno Nason for Vetreria Gino Cenedese Glass torso figure circa 1970
Scavo Glass Female torso by Ermanno Nason for Vetreria Gino Cenedese, 1965-72 Born in Murano on July 21, 1928, he was son of the master glassblower Otello Nason (1894-1966).
He had his apprenticeship as a glassmaker first in his father's factory, then with his uncle Emilio Nason (1891-1959).From 1972 to 1994 Ermanno had his own factory, where he carries out poly-chrome glass sculptures based on his own designs. Nowadays production is stopped but the company continues to exist. Ermanno Nason was one of the great glass makers of Murano, maestro and member of a family that has played an important part in every stage of the history of Murano from the XVII century to today. His works are collected by major museums and collectors around the globe.
Ermanno passed away in 2013.
