Tyler Double-barrel Over/Under Percussion Rifle, Vienna, Ohio, third quarter of the 19th century. 31 1/2 in., .45 caliber octagonal barrels with German silver front sight and iron buck horn rear sight, the top of the barrel marked 'N.B. TYLER/VIENNA O' and the left side marked '[--TLEY.NELSON & CO.'; lock plate marked 'WHITMORE WOLFE/DUFF & Co/PITTSBURGH PA,' the cock with two percussion cap strikers and double triggers; walnut stock with brass butt plate and patch box, scrolling iron trigger guard, a rammer secured to both sides of the barrel within sheet brass rammer pipes. Overall lg. 49 in. CONDITION: Barrels toned to deep brown; action does not engage on the sear; stock has a repair above the lock plate.
