Clipped signature ("John Quincy Adams"). -- FILLMORE, Millard (1800-1874). Autograph note signed ("Millard Fillmore") as Vice President. Buffalo, NY, 22 April 1849. 1 page, folds, tearing and areas of separation near folds and edges. A note written on the verso of a longer letter of recommendation of a new postmaster in Ithaca, NY. HAYES, Rutherford B. (1822-1893). Clipped signature ("R.B. Hayes"). -- HARRISON, Benjamin (1833-1901). Typed letter signed ("Benj. Harrison"), addressed to H.A. Spaulding. Indianapolis, IN, 25 March 1897. 1 page, on "Benjamin Harrison" letterhead. Accompanied by original envelope. -- CLEVELAND, Grover (1837-1908). Legal brief regarding nonpayment of debt, Superior Court of Buffalo, 25 October 1861, believed to be written entirely in Cleveland's hand. Includes original plaintiff's summon affixed via original wax seal) (second page detached along horizontal fold, partial separation along same fold of first page). With handwritten note from New York Supreme Court attorney Thomas B. Lockwood verifying that the brief is written in Cleveland's hand with further explanation regarding Cleveland's connection with the office of Bowen & Rogers. -- MCKINLEY, William (1843-1901). Typed letter signed ("Wm. McKinley"). Canton, OH, 5 September 1896. 1 page, on "William McKinley" letterhead, folds. HARDING, Warren G. (1865-1923). 2 signed items, including: Typed letter signed ("W.G. Harding"), addressed to F.A. Clawson. US Senate, 9 July 1919. 1 page, "United States Senate" letterhead, old folds. Harding provides an interesting excuse for not contributing money to a worthy cause. -- Partially printed promissory note signed ("W.G. Harding"). Printed speech signed ("Herbert Hoover"). -- RPPC of Hoover's birthplace signed ("Herbert Hoover"). GARFIELD, Lucy A., cousin to James A. Garfield. Autograph letter signed to President Garfield. Napa City, CA, 1 January 1881. 4 pages, light folds. She asks Garfield if he can provide a "position of honor" for her son. -- HOOVER, Lou Henry, wife of Herbert Hoover. Typed letter signed, addressed to Mr. Nivon. Stanford University, CA, 10 September 1921. 1 page, "Stanford University" letterhead, old folds. She references having to stay in California because of the sudden death of her mother. With typed letter signed by Mrs. Hoover's secretary and original mailing envelope. -- HARRISON, Mary Lord, second wife to Benjamin Harrison. Clipped signature dated 1942. -- CLEVELAND PRESTON, Francis F., wife to Grover Cleveland. Autograph note signed, Intermont, Tamworth, New Hampshire, 8 October 1927. 2 pages, mounted on board.
