This is a first edition, first printing of Atget's iconic photobook "Photographe de Paris" published by E.Weyhe, New York in 1930. Frontispiece portrait of Atget by Berenice Abbott and 96 stunning full-page collotypes from the original Atget negatives. Pierre Mac-Orlan contributed an essay to the book. BOOK CONDITION: Near Fine: a solid, tight, clean copy with solid binding, gift inscriptions to fep. (also includes the list of photographs attached to the rear paste down), gilt to spine is worn and dulled, light rubbing and wear to covers and edges, housed in a Very Good, solid slipcase showing toning, staining, some splitting along edges, some areas of slight loss along fore edges of slipcase. Overall, a collectible copy, especially so with the extremely scarce original slipcase!
