Description
Vintage 14k rose gold cased personal ‘New York Yacht Club’ whistle siren, with the same working mechanism as an air raid siren of the period, having enameled flags to both sides, one New York Yacht Club burgee flag in blue with red ribbons and a white star in the middle and the burgee flag of the Gilded Age luxury yacht Utawana, belonging to Allison V. Armour, with a white swallowtail flag having two blue X's, tied together with a horizontal bar, the siren apparently unmarked.
Provenance: From the Private Collection of Tania Armour Becker, Atlanta, Georgia.

The whistle mechanism operates and makes noise when air is blown through it with the enamel flags and conjoined flag poles having bright colors and just a touch of wear on the burgee flag pole,unmarked as to the gold content but tested
