Description
A pair of George II highly carved bergeres, mid 18th century. Reupholstered chairs in a rich chocolate suede with brass tack detailing. Barrel backs, arms ending in intricately carved hound/wolf/dog heads. Front rail with circular and floral motif, side rails with leaf motif. Two front cabriole legs with acanthus at knees, terminating in carved scroll feet with leaf and cabochon motif. Apparently unsigned and unmarked. 34 x 24 x 29 inches.
Condition
