Description
Late 18th or Early 19th century highly carved continental armchairs. Intricately carved pierced splats in a scrolling and foliate motif, carved rounded backs and shaped arms ending in scrolls. Scalloped and carved apron over cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet. Down filled tufted cushions attached with tasseled rope, spring and horsehair seats, upholstered in a chocolate textile. Apparently unsigned and unmarked. 31.5 T x 24 W x 21 D inches.
Condition
In good age-appropriate condition. Old repairs throughout, two small pieces broken from the splat of one chair, some minor separations, general light abrasions and accretions.
