Description
Collection of two American field gear items from World War I. Includes: U.S. M1910 khaki haversack, approx. 12 x 18 in. (closed), stamped ‘U.S.’ on the front flap. Maker marked on the reverse ‘WILEY, BICKFORD, SWEET CO. JULY 1918’, set between the wide Y-straps. The interior of the bottom flap is further marked ‘LONG 5-18’; WITH a tan canvas grenade bag, 10 x 11 in., stamped ‘U.S.’ on the front, closed at the top by three snap buttons, with shoulder strap. This stitch reinforced bag is maker marked and dated underneath the top flap ‘E & W 7-18’ Bears some soiling and moth nips; Two pieces, overall very good.
