Description
British Army General Service belt, approx. 37.5 x 2 in. Constructed of brown leather and fitted with a white metal locket-style buckle depicting a lion atop a crown within the central disk, within the Latin motto ‘Dieu et Mon Droit’ (‘God and my right’). The belt is maker marked ‘J & B. PEARSE FLORAL STREET LONDON’, with further markings on the interior ‘5 R.S.X. 09 344’. Staining and cracking throughout, just good condition. The buckle shows very light wear, else very good. Sold with a World War I Canadian belt, 37 x 2 in., with snake clasp, and complete with equipment straps to the rear. The leather is cracked throughout and shows moderate white staining, with some verdigris to the brass hardware, generally poor condition. Accompanied by a 38 in. cross strap with brass hardware.
