Finished wood plaque, apparently given as an award or incentive to a local R.A.D. volunteer or unit. The plaque measures 6.75 x 8 in. overall and displays a gilt R.A.D. emblem nailed thereto with the organization's motto 'Arbeit adelt' ('Work ennobles'). Beneath the metal shield is a smaller shield indicating this was awarded in Wernigerode. The verso bears an R.A.D. member's paper uniform label. Some oxidation to the metal plaques, else very good.
