Large lot of 38 period photos and three pieces of ephemera from the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Some photos are signed portrait and action shots of the athletes, including: ERICH RADEMACHER, KARL SCHAFER, HANS JAKOBY, ALOIS HUDEC and more. The remaining photos depict: massive crowds waiting for entrance; various country flags; Rudolf Hess, Wilhelm Frick, Werner von Blomberg, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels, and Hermann Goering applauding; shots of wrestlers, swimmers, pole vaulters, boaters, disc throwers; construction of the stadium; etc. WITH: an A.L.S. from gymnast Alois Hudec on the reverse of his personal calling card (untranslated), dated 1936; an album page bearing several unidentified autographs; and a dinner menu of the S.S. Europa, dated July 10, 1936, printed in both German and English. 41 pieces, overall very good.
