Romanian Order of the Crown, first model, commander or second class, Grand Officer Cross set for Commander including breast star, neck order with original suspension loop, and full-length original neck ribbon, complete with original fitted case, all by maker Joseph Resch Fils, Bucharest. Issuance of the Commander Class of this order was limited to eighty in total. Very minor discoloration to a small area at the center of the reverse of the breast star, else in excellent condition, case with gold cipher on lid worn, with loose catch. The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order set up on 14 March 1881 by King Carol I of Romania to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was commissioned in five classes and was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947. It was revived in 2011 as a Dynastic Order.
