Modern half black calf over contemporary cloth-covered boards, titled in gilt on upper cover, all edges gilt, modern cloth-covered clamshell box. Some old worming damage to cloth of covers, with small wormholes passing through all leaves, browning and spotting.

FIRST EDITION of this work, which has been excluded from the bibliographic literature of the genre. The lithographic illustrations are by J.C. Anderson after C.H. Fairland, here with (possibly later) hand-coloring.
