Jim Johnsson (Swedish, 20th Century), Two Pieces of Art Glass
including an abstract sculpture with a green apple, leaves and gilt highlights mounted to a stone base with artist's plaque (16 in.); and a cameo glass charger of a clipper ship (13.75 in. diameter), both signed.
Swedish glass artist and engraver, Jim Johnsson, has been creating his own distinctive works wince 1982. Jim's work can be found in private collections in Norway, Denmark, Kuwait, USA, France, Germany, England, Holland, Italy, Japan and China. He started as a glass engraver's apprentice at Strömbergshyttan's Glasbruk in 1970, where he was entrusted to engrave a 60cm diameter glass bowl with all of America's state flowers for the White House. Jim was also a record holder in the Guinness Book of Records in 1992 and 1999, as the creator of the world's largest engraved glass artwork.
