An antique Italian Gothic revival Majolica figural griffin pedestal with jardiniere. The palace sized set features a Neoclassical style winged griffin bust at each end, with a gadroon border and sides, mounted atop a single seated griffon, both having a red glazed finish with drips of beige, green and brown at the bottom, reminiscent to that of Ox Blood Sang de Boeuf. No apparent maker marks. Jardiniere measures 28" x 29" x 20", and base measures 52" x 15" x 24". Together the height is 80"

Condition: Fair overall vintage condition having average surface wear, with an area of glaze loss on the back of the pedestals griffon, and mild loss under the chin of one of the dragons of the jardiniere. Previous older restorations to vessel and base. Estate fresh to the market.
