Description
A scarce French porcelain centerpiece bowl, produced circa 1925 for Pomone (Pomona), the art workshop of the Bon Marche (Bonmarche) department store. Glazed earthenware body with relief decoration depicting two elephants with female rider figure, picking large fruit. Marked to underside POMONE BON MARCHE LONGWY FRANCE. The piece may have been produced for the 1925 Paris Exhibition of Decorative Arts. Accompanied with French language publicity article.
Dimensions: 3 X 15 X 15 in.
Condition: Good to fair condition, having mild surface wear and crazing. Estate fresh to the market.
