Ca. mid 19thC. Excellent proffessionally restored condition. Well housed in period giltwood frame. Signed on a rock lower left. Canvas size approx. 17 3/4" x 29 1/2".

HENRY W. KEMPER (AMERICAN, 1833-1894) . Little is known of Kemper's background or art training; however, he is known primarily for his landscapes typically depicting river valley settings. He had made at least one excursion to the Adirondack Mountains and Lake George areas. He is also known to have painted the scenic Ohio River Valley.
