Mexico, 20th century CE. This is a wooden chest with red and exposed wood overall exterior, with thick wallpaper-like material underlying with floral and geometric designs. The lid is a rounded peak shape, with a hinge, and two small iron rings to lock it to the base (no lock is present). The interior is lined with a creamy wallpaper-like material. A nice piece of functional folk art with good age wear! Size: 10.9" L x 15.5" W x 11.2" H (27.7 cm x 39.4 cm x 28.4 cm)

Provenance: ex-Morgan Collection, Santa Monica, CA.
