BOVET A FLEURIER WITH ENAMELED FLOWERS BOUQUET AND DOVES, CIRCA 1840 RARE ENAMELED WATCH FOR THE CHINESE MARKET Case: n. 3116 followed by a dot, "Empire" three-body in vermeil, caseback with enamelled medallion depicting a bouquet of summer flowers and a pair of white doves, turquoise blue field, pendant and bezels set with pearls, glazed hinged dome. Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, minute/second divisions, outer Arabic fifteen-minute/seconds numerals, blued steel flower-shaped hands. Movement: signed, key-winding with independent barrel, polished steel plates, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic balance with half-moons, flat hairspring. Accessories: - Diameter Ø: 56 mm Notes: working. Bouquets of flowers, with or without pairs of doves, are subjects often represented in watches produced in Val-de-Travers. Characteristic of this production was the creation in pairs of two identical watches in which the enamel decoration was reproduced reflected to each other. The numbering of the two copies was also generally identical, but on the second a period was added after the numbering. The twin example with the same numbers as the watch in the catalog, was sold by Antiquorum in Hong Kong in June 2008.
