Backus, Albert Ernest "Beanie" (1906 –1990) Indian River School, founder of the Highwaymen movement - Florida Hall of Fame Artist. Oil on Canvas art board, and beautifully framed. Signed lower right. Created in a mixed media of brush and palette knife. Classic Rio Mar point captured in perpetuity, is the resounding surf along the south shore of the last remaining slice of the virgin Vero beaches. Canvas measures 16x20 framed to overall size of 19x26. Albert Ernest Backus was a largely self-taught artist from Fort Pierce, Florida who created the Highwaymen movement - capturing the images of the timeless beauty of the Florida landscape.
