This is an original mixed media piece by British artist James Hussey. Using monotype collage and Pastel the artist created a composition celebrating Hollywood. This composite includes drawings of miniature film posters Charlie Chaplin operating a camera and handwritten names of the most famous and prolific actors and actresses of the 1960s Hollywood scene. This piece is in excellent condition signed ‘James Hussey’ in white pencil on the bottom right corner and is framed with white and blue mats in a gold painted wooden frame. Born in 1949 in Wolverhampton James Hussey was educated at Stourbridge Art School and later at Chelsea School of Art. He now lives in Sussex with his wife Annabel Hewitt who also has a wide reputation for her abstract work published by London Contemporary Art. James explores the world of colour in his loose freeform monotypes using water colours. His works are part of numerous collections including Royal Festival Hall Beaks of Regent Street Apple Bentleys of Baker Street Bush Davies Citicorp Bank Chase Manhattan Bank Dean Witter Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Marks and Spencer Plc Readers Digest.
