Vintage 3.25X6 picture postcard of St. Patrick's Cathedral on V-E Day, 1945. Signed in blue ink in the lower right corner by Francis Spellman. On the verso contains a printed prayer of Thanksgiving after Victory. In very good condition.(1889-1967) Francis Joseph Spellman was an American bishop and cardinal of the Catholic Church. From 1939 until his death in 1967, he served as the sixth Archbishop of New York; he had previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston from 1932 through 1939. He was created a cardinal in 1946.This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022.
