Description
Quarter plate daguerreotype bust-length studio portrait of a distinguished gentleman. Housed in push-button leatherette case.
A handsome portrait of a distinguished gentleman with a prominent forehead and piercing. Housed in a push-button case, the image almost certainly comes from one of the prominent photographers of the Boston School. The subject bears a distinct resemblance to Amos Bronson Alcott (1799-1888), the abolitionist, reformer, philospher, and women's rights advocate whose daughter was renowned author Louisa May Alcott, best known for Little Women.
