Description
Offered here today is a five strand turquoise and spiny oyster necklace with joclas. This grand necklace features numerous turquoise cylinder beads and spiny oyster beads with sterling silver spacer beads. There is beautiful joclas of turquoise beads, with coral and spiny oyster accents, tied to the bottom of the necklace. The necklace and joclas are both strung on waxed cord, and the neck is conjoined by a knot. This lovely necklace will look great alone or worn with other necklaces. Add it to your collection today!
Jocla is the Navajo word for "ear string". The Navajo and Pueblo natives would often wear all their jewelry for safekeeping. Their extra “ear strings” or earrings, were often tied to the bottom of their necklaces. Later, this evolved into a popular necklace style.
