Description
Two Federal silver waste bowls and a Federal silver creamer, John Christian Wiltberger (1769-1851), John David (1736-1798), and Richard Humphreys (1750-1832), Philadelphia, PA, circa 1790-1800
Provenance
Comprising a footed waste bowl with beaded rim, by John Christian Wiltberger, engraved with monogram, “AST,” marked to foot; a footed waste bowl with beaded rim, by John David, engraved with be-ribboned oval cartouche surrounding monogram, “SL,” marked four times underneath foot; and a creamer on footed base, by Richard Humphreys, engraved with monogram, “ORD,” marked four times underneath foot.8

Condition
lot 82: John David waste bowl: mild rubbing to surface details, some persistent tarnish commensurate with age, but mostly bright overall; Wiltberger waste bowl: nice overall, with some minor green oxidation to underside interior rim, very slight bend to edge of one corner of base; creamer with some denting to body, particularly concentrated near or over the monogram
