A 19th century King Charles Spaniel micromosaic brooch and a stickpinThe brooch of rectangular form inlaid with polychrome tesserae depicting a recumbent King Charles Spaniel on a black paste ground, mounted in an open ornate frame, with safety chain and pin, 47mm wide; the stickpin with painted depiction of a King Charles Spaniel within a ropetwist border, 86mm long. (2)
Condition
The first; on the whole the tesserae mostly intact with minor few missing. Scratching and very small chips to black paste ground consistent with age and wear.
The open mount dented at corners in particular. Some soldering evident beneath the safety chain attachment to frame.
The second; minor scratches consistent with age and wear. Original stopper present.
